Malatesta

It has been a while since I have posted, but I have found a new piece of the city worth writing about. And it has inspired me to share my experiences again. I don't have any pics for this one, but here goes...

When deciding on a place to eat in the city, within my friend group, there is one place we all agree on...Malatesta. This cozy restaurant at the corner of Washington and Christopher is definite favorite and the perfect place to visit at the end of yet another cold, snowy day of the season. It is the place for fresh, authentic Italian, where I am pretty sure the pasta is pressed in the back. The concise menu seems to be written daily. I have only visited a couple of times, and have had the the spinach gnocchi and the cheese ravioli both times -Amazing! The portions are big enough to split, but once you have a bite you will not want to share. Cash only, but the prices do not break the bank and the service is awesome. The wine list is short like the dessert selection, not overwhelming with tons to pick through - everything offered is delicious. Malatesta is the perfect place to unwind with friends or for a romantic date.

Malatesta has a sister restaurant, Malaparte, also Italian fare located in the West Village as well.
